Fanbases representing 16 GMMTV artists in China have released a joint statement following the recent incident involving a Chinese fan during an event in Thailand.
The statement was published on July 27, 2026, and was signed by fan communities supporting Gemini, Fourth, Pond, Phuwin, Jimmy, Sea, Perth, Santa, Winny, Satang, William, Est, Aou, Boom, Ken, and Paul.
In the statement, the fanbases expressed concern over the incident that occurred during the International Novel Festival 2026.
They emphasized that all international fans deserve equal treatment and respect regardless of their nationality or region.
The groups also referred to GMMTV’s official statement released on July 26, saying they believed it did not include a direct public apology to the affected individual or fully address the concerns raised by many Chinese fans.
The joint statement called on GMMTV to publicly apologize to the person affected, strengthen oversight of both in-house and outsourced event staff, and improve event management and safety procedures to ensure equal treatment for fans from all countries.
The fanbases also encouraged fans attending overseas events to prioritize their personal safety.
They advised fans to leave dangerous situations immediately, preserve any available evidence if an incident occurs, and seek assistance through appropriate channels.
