Overseasidol.com — Actor Cao Jun, recently opened up in an interview about his life-changing decision to step away from showbiz at the height of his popularity in order to pursue a college education.

Speaking candidly, Cao Jun shared that he has no regrets about leaving the entertainment industry for a time.

“The industry has certainly changed a lot,” he admitted.

“But going through that transformation is part of the journey.

There may be difficulties, but I’m committed to doing my best. I don’t regret the decision because I’ve gained so much from it,” he explained.

Having debuted at the age of 8, Cao Jun spent much of his youth juggling film sets and school obligations.

By the time he was filming The Lotus Lantern during high school, the academic pressure had become hard to ignore.

He eventually realized that his demanding acting schedule was causing gaps in his formal education, especially during the crucial years of preparing for college entrance exams.

“During high school, I felt the strong need to focus on academics and develop myself further,” he recalled.

In 2006, Cao Jun made the bold move to temporarily leave the limelight and dedicate himself fully to preparing for university.

His hard work paid off when he was accepted into Fudan University’s School of Visual Arts in Shanghai, majoring in acting.

Throughout his university years, he fully embraced campus life, immersing himself in acting theory, cultural studies, and everyday student experiences.

It was a period of personal growth and self-reflection that, according to him, added depth and maturity to his identity.
