Thai actor Bank Artit has officially stepped into the BL genre for the first time, taking on the lead role in an upcoming series.
Although he had received several BL offers in the past, this is the first project he has decided to accept.
Bank explained that he has never judged a project based on its genre.
Whether it is a television drama, a movie, or a BL series, he sees every project as an opportunity to perform as an actor.
He revealed that previous BL scripts did not feel like the right fit for him.
However, everything changed when he read the script for this new series.
The character immediately caught his attention, and he believed he could bring the role to life in a unique way.
To prepare for the role, Bank read the original novel twice.
He wanted to fully understand the character and deliver a performance that would stay true to the source material.
After reading the novel, he understood why fans had become so attached to the character.
Bank admitted he was initially nervous about entering the BL genre.
However, after attending acting workshops with the rest of the cast, those concerns disappeared.
His attention is now focused entirely on portraying the character rather than thinking about the genre.
The actor emphasized that BL, GL, and other drama genres should all be treated equally.
In his view, an actor’s responsibility is to deliver a convincing performance, regardless of the type of story being told.
As one of the more experienced cast members, Bank also shares advice with the younger actors during filming.
