On May 31, his management team released a public statement clarifying the situation and denying the accusations circulating across social media platforms.
According to the statement, Chen Tianxiang temporarily paused his studies during his sophomore year because of long-term filming commitments that required him to stay with a drama production crew for an extended period.
To avoid negatively affecting his education, he formally applied for a leave of absence from the university, which was officially approved by the school.
After completing the leave period, Chen Tianxiang reportedly returned to campus on schedule and continued his academic studies normally.
His management emphasized that he completed coursework and maintained regular academic performance after resuming classes.
Addressing claims about unfinished subjects and failed courses, the statement explained that some exam schedules conflicted with filming activities.
As a result, Chen Tianxiang applied for make-up exams according to university regulations.
However, because the university did not organize another unified make-up exam session within the same academic year, the exams had to be postponed until the following semester.
The management further revealed that by late May 2026, Chen Tianxiang had completed all required examinations and successfully passed them.
They confirmed that all academic credits have now been fully completed, directly rejecting rumors that he failed several courses or postponed graduation for two years.
