The new Chinese drama Xiao Fang officially premiered on July 13, 2026, on CCTV Drama Channel and Tencent Video (WeTV).
The series is adapted from the popular online novel Xiao Fang Chu Jia by Chinese author Yi Bei.
The drama stars Wang Yinglu as Yang Xiaofang and Xin Yunlai as Qi Xiaowei, alongside Yig Er, Fan Ming, Wang Ji, Lin Yongjian, Wu Yanshu, and several well-known veteran actors.
Set in the countryside of Guizhou, the story follows Yang Xiaofang, a young woman born in the 2000s who falls in love with fellow villager Qi Xiaowei while working away from home.
Their lives take an unexpected turn when Xiaofang becomes pregnant before marriage and the couple plans to return home to get married.
Their wedding plans collapse after both families clash over long-standing conflicts and disagreements regarding the bride price.
As rumors spread throughout the village, Xiaofang faces social pressure and criticism from those around her.
Instead of entering a marriage based solely on responsibility, Xiaofang decides to follow her own path.
She starts a medicinal herb business in her hometown and expands it through live-streaming sales, gradually building a successful career while discovering her own strength and independence.
