Overseasidol.com — The 4th CMG China TV Drama Annual Ceremony held its awards night on January 29, celebrating outstanding achievements in Chinese television drama.
Several major stars took home top acting honors, with Yu Hewei and Guo Jingfei winning Best Actor of the Year, while Yang Mi and Sun Li were named Best Actress of the Year.
Yu Hewei earned critical acclaim for his role as Wu Shi in the drama Dark Dive 1950.
His powerful and layered performance secured him the CMG Best Actor title for the second time, further cementing his reputation as one of the most respected actors in Chinese television.
Guo Jingfei was also recognized as Best Actor for his portrayal in the drama Uncle.
His emotionally rich performance and convincing character interpretation impressed both audiences and the awards panel.
In the Best Actress category, Sun Li and Yang Mi shared the spotlight as joint winners for 2026.
Sun Li received the honor for her role as Hu Manli in A Better Life, where she portrayed a woman navigating a deeply personal and complex life journey with emotional depth.
Yang Mi achieved a significant career milestone with her win. She was honored for her role as Ning Xiuxiu, a rural woman, in the period drama This Thriving Land.
This marks Yang Mi’s first Best Actress recognition from CMG and her return to winning a major mainstream television award 13 years after her Golden Eagle Award victory in 2013.
