Overseasidol.com — Actor Darren Wang Dalu has found himself caught in controversy after Taiwanese media reported that his girlfriend is allegedly involved in a debt collection scheme involving a gang member.
The issue stems from a financial dispute between Wang’s girlfriend and a man surnamed Pan.
While Pan was serving time in prison, he reportedly exchanged letters with her, promising to repay the money upon release.
However, after no payment was made, she allegedly turned to a man named Chen, reportedly connected to a gang, for help retrieving Pan’s personal information and pressuring his family to repay the debt.
The case was brought to court last month and saw a new hearing on June 20.
During the session, Wang’s girlfriend admitted to sharing Pan’s court verdict with Chen, but claimed she had no knowledge of how Chen obtained Pan’s private data, such as his full name, ID number, and home address, or why Chen confronted Pan’s family.
Prosecutors, however, disputed her claims. They revealed that chat records and digital evidence clearly indicate her awareness and involvement in the matter.
Moreover, they stated that such detailed personal information could not have been retrieved merely from public legal documents, suggesting her explanation was inconsistent with the evidence.
