Overseasidol.com — Mike Hsu, the husband of Taiwanese host Dee Hsu, has recently come under public scrutiny following reports that he privately sent a photo from the funeral of the late actress Barbie Hsu, also known as Da S, to a fan.
According to several media reports, the incident allegedly took place in 2025 when fans were still mourning the sudden passing of Barbie Hsu.
Reports claimed that Mike contacted a female fan through WeChat and even suggested meeting in person.
To prove his identity, he was reportedly said to have shared a photo from Barbie Hsu’s funeral.
He also allegedly asked the recipient not to distribute the image, noting that it was taken on the final day of the farewell ceremony for the actress.
When journalists later asked Mike about the alleged messages and screenshots circulating online, he reportedly did not respond directly.
Barbie Hsu passed away unexpectedly in Japan during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, a loss that shocked fans and the entertainment industry across Asia.
On March 11, Mike’s side finally addressed the controversy through the manager of Dee Hsu.
In the statement, he emphasized that his intention was simply to express sincere gratitude to fans who have continued to support and remember Barbie Hsu.
He stated that he deeply appreciates everyone who has protected and cherished Barbie Hsu’s legacy.
According to him, fans have gone through a difficult period since her passing, and their love and support mean a great deal.
Mike Hsu also added that he does not pay much attention to external rumors or criticism, as his main focus is thanking those who continue to love Barbie Hsu regardless of where they are.
Meanwhile, Barbie Hsu’s mother also commented briefly on the matter, saying she prefers not to respond to what she described as baseless claims.
She added that Xu Yajun is a kind and upright person who could easily be taken advantage of by others.
