Overseasidol.com — Chinese cinema has welcomed a new milestone as Fan Chengcheng officially surpassed 9 billion yuan in cumulative box office revenue from his starring films.
According to verified data released on February 28 by Maoyan Pro and Lighthouse Professional Edition, he is now the first actor born in the 2000s to achieve this record.
A significant portion of the total comes from the blockbuster Pegasus 2, which generated approximately 3.36 billion yuan at the box office.
In the film, Fan portrayed the passionate young racer Li Xiaohai, a role that earned him dual nominations for Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Rooster Awards and the Hundred Flowers Awards.
Its sequel, Pegasus 3, released during the 2026 Chinese New Year holiday, continues to deliver strong box office numbers, further solidifying the franchise as the backbone of his commercial success.
Meanwhile, the comedy hit Godspeed brought in around 1.18 billion yuan, emerging as a surprise success during the Labor Day holiday season.
In the film, Fan played Wan Yifan, gaining wider recognition among mainstream audiences.
He also starred in Viva La Vida, earning approximately 457 million yuan alongside veteran actor Huang Bo in a touching father-son story.
His big-screen debut came with the thriller Door Lock, which grossed 242 million yuan.
Additionally, he explored socially driven storytelling in Black Storm, earning 192 million yuan, and ventured into horror-comedy with The Night, which collected 46.89 million yuan.
