Overseasidol.com — Actor and singer Mickey He Shengming recently shared an emotional story about his career journey and broken friendship with famous producer Yu Zheng.
On March 13, he uploaded his first long video on his personal social media channel. The video was recorded earlier on February 28, which happened to be Yu Zheng’s birthday.
In the video, He spoke openly about his transformation from a struggling singer into a successful actor, as well as the rise and eventual collapse of his close partnership with Yu Zheng.
He described the producer as “the biggest regret of my life”.
He recalled that he first debuted as a singer and even performed at China’s prestigious Spring Festival Gala.
Confident about his future, he chose to go solo and aimed to become “China’s most handsome singer” and a trendsetter.
However, his career quickly declined after leaving his group, pushing him into one of the lowest points in his life.
During his early years in Beijing, He Shengming struggled to find opportunities in acting.
He worked as a visual supervisor with very low income and at times could barely afford daily expenses.
He admitted that he once wandered alone by the seaside feeling deeply depressed and even had thoughts of ending his life.
Eventually, he returned home to rely on his parents for emotional recovery before deciding to go back to Beijing to continue chasing his dreams.
At his lowest moment, Mickey He met Yu Zheng at a KTV. The producer saw potential in him and invited him to act in television dramas.
The two quickly became close, calling each other brothers and spending nearly every day together while building their careers with passion and determination.
They later formed a production team, secured investments, and created several hit dramas such as Rose Martial World, Love Tribulations, and Beauty’s Rival in Palace.
During the production of Guo Se Tian Xiang, Yu Zheng specially prepared the male lead role for He.
Surprisingly, he insisted on playing the villain instead, which made Yu Zheng very upset. In the end, Yu Zheng compromised and the male lead role was given to Hawick Lau.
