JKT48 virtual unit group, also known as JKT48V, has officially come to an end.
PT Indonesia Musik Nusantara (IMN), the company behind JKT48, announced that the virtual idol project will be discontinued following the termination of its licensing agreement with AKA Virtual Inc.
According to the official statement, the licensing contract ended in May 2026.
PT IMN explained that the decision was made because AKA Virtual failed to fulfill its contractual obligations to both PT IMN and the members of JKT48 Virtual.
The company stated that it had sent official notifications and made several attempts to communicate with AKA Virtual.
However, due to the lack of response and good faith from the license holder, PT IMN concluded that continuing the project was no longer possible.
After holding discussions with the members, PT IMN made the difficult decision to officially end the JKT48 Virtual project.
The company emphasized that the decision was reached after carefully considering the circumstances surrounding the partnership.
Before the project officially concludes, each member will hold a graduation stream.
Tana Nona is scheduled for July 27, 2026, followed by Maura Nilambari on August 9, Isha Kirana on August 21, and Pia Meraleo on September 5.
PT IMN also reaffirmed that Sami Maono’s activities as a JKT48 Virtual member had already concluded prior to this announcement. (Overseasidol.com)
