Overseasidol.com — Thai actor and martial artist Mike Pattaradet recently traveled to Guilin, China, to take part in a special project focused on promoting the traditional Thai martial art, Muay Thai.
In a heartfelt message written in Chinese, Mikey expressed his deep gratitude for what he called a “precious opportunity”.
He shared how honored he felt to collaborate with a Chinese production team, something he had long dreamed of.
What made the experience even more meaningful was the chance to represent Thailand and introduce the art of Muay Thai to a Chinese audience by blending it with elements of Chinese martial arts, creating a cross-cultural showcase of both traditions.
The project was filled with challenges and unique experiences, including high-flying action scenes using wire rigs and performing stunts with flaming staffs under intense heat.
Every scene required intense focus and strict safety measures. The filming took over four days, often changing locations daily and involving travel of up to five hours between sets.
Despite the physical demands, Mikey described the experience as exciting and fulfilling.
He was especially captivated by the picturesque scenery of Guilin, likening it to a painting, and enjoyed the local cuisine.
He extended his heartfelt thanks to the Chinese team for their care and for granting him the opportunity to present Muay Thai to Chinese audiences.
As a representative of Thailand, Mikey expressed immense pride in being able to share his country’s treasured cultural heritage through this meaningful international collaboration.
