Overseasidol.com — Chinese actor and idol NCT’s Winwin Dong Sicheng recently addressed the nickname “born for historical roles” which has been widely given to him by fans.
He shared his thoughts during a fan meeting held in Shanghai on May 23, 2026.
During the event, Winwin expressed his appreciation for the title and revealed his intention to take on more historical or costume drama roles in the future.
He even confidently stated that he hopes to continue portraying such characters well into his 50s.
The nickname stems from his standout performance in the drama The Finest Scenery, where he played the character Ye Xian.
His refined appearance, including distinctive phoenix-shaped eyes, sharp facial structure, and elegant aura, impressed audiences and reminded many of classic characters from traditional Chinese literature such as Dream of the Red Chamber.
This role has further solidified his image as an actor perfectly suited for historical dramas.
