Overseasidol.com — The Shanghai International Film Festival officially unveiled the complete nomination lineup of Golden Goblet Awards for its 28th edition on May 30, 2026.
This year, several Chinese-language productions successfully secured spots across major categories, highlighting the growing strength of Asian cinema on the international stage.
In the prestigious Golden Goblet Main Competition section, three Chinese-language feature films drew significant attention after being selected as finalists.
The films include Atlantic Rhapsody directed by Zhong Kaifeng, Secret in the Box by Tan Guangyuan, and The Great Skull directed by Liu Xiaoyang.
All three productions are scheduled for world premieres during the festival and are already considered strong contenders for the top award.
Most of the Chinese-language films selected this year are directed by emerging filmmakers, reflecting the rise of a new generation of storytellers in the Chinese film industry.
