Overseasidol.com — Thai actor Smart Chisanupong has publicly addressed his ongoing dispute with streaming platform WeTV, sharing his perspective during an emotional press conference alongside his agency.
Smart explained that tensions had been building for a long time, as repeated attempts to resolve problems with the production team reportedly failed.
According to him, unresolved issues continued to accumulate, eventually leading to a breakdown in communication between both parties.
He also described a serious health incident that became a turning point.
Smart Chisanupong said he began feeling unwell from the morning but still pushed himself to continue filming.
However, by the time night scenes were scheduled, his condition had worsened to the point where he could no longer perform.
He was later hospitalized and questioned why he was not allowed to seek medical treatment earlier despite his symptoms.
After the incident, Smart claimed he was asked to sign documents that he interpreted as warning letters, suggesting he would bear responsibility if similar situations occurred again.
Although discussions were held to find common ground, he said both sides ultimately had different expectations and could not reach an agreement.
His agency, Grand Ivory Record, supported his statements, alleging unfair treatment and insufficient care for the actor’s health condition.
The agency revealed that repeated efforts to clarify contractual responsibilities were unsuccessful, which led them to terminate the contract last year.
The statement comes amid escalating legal tensions, after WeTV accused Smart of breaching his contract and reportedly filed lawsuits in multiple jurisdictions.
