Taiwanese actor Wang Po-Chieh has publicly apologized after being caught committing several traffic violations while riding an electric-assisted bicycle (e-bike).
He drawing renewed public attention following his previous drunk-driving case.
According to Taiwanese media reports, Wang was seen riding from Neihu to Taipei’s Xinyi District, covering approximately 12 kilometers before returning to Nangang.
During the trip, Wang Po-Chieh was reportedly involved in multiple traffic violations.
The reported violations included using a mobile phone while riding, talking on the phone, riding on pedestrian sidewalks, passing through bus stop areas, and competing for space with passengers boarding and leaving buses.
Other reports also claimed he rode in a zig-zag manner, allegedly exceeded the speed limit, ran a red light, and looked down at his phone while riding.
In response to the criticism, Wang issued a public apology, admitting that his negligence had set a poor example and could have endangered the safety of other road users.
“I sincerely apologize. Because of a moment of carelessness, I violated traffic regulations. It was a bad example and could have put other road users at risk. I am truly sorry,” he said.
He also promised to strictly follow all traffic laws in the future and ensure that similar incidents would not happen again. (Overseasidol.com)
