The upcoming Chinese movie “The Last Confession”, formerly titled “Xiao Yuan Tongxue”, officially began filming on July 16, 2026, in Huangshi, Hubei Province.
Produced by Enlight Pictures, the movie blends youth romance, mystery, suspense, and time-travel elements.
Production is expected to continue for approximately 40 to 50 days.
The project marks an important milestone for Lu Yuxiao, who takes on her first leading role in a theatrical feature film.
She stars as Lin Yu’an, while Li Xiaoqian plays the male lead, Chen Yabai.
One of the biggest talking points at the film’s opening ceremony was the change in the male lead.
Wu Junting was originally cast for the role but withdrew due to scheduling conflicts with another production.
