Veteran Chinese singer Wei Wei has opened up about her past marriage during a recent interview.
At the age of 61, she reflected on her relationship with Swedish pianist Michael Smith, which ended after roughly ten years of marriage.
During the interview, Wei Wei said she felt she had been “misled” before getting married.
She explained that she did not truly love her former husband and only discovered several important facts after the marriage had already begun.
According to Wei Wei, she was unaware before the wedding that Michael Smith was 25 years older than her.
She also said she later learned that he had previously been married twice and had children, information she claimed had not been disclosed before their marriage.
Wei Wei further alleged that she experienced controlling behavior, domestic violence, and threats to her safety during the marriage.
