Overseasidol.com — Taiwanese entertainer William Liao, known as member of boy band Lollipop@F, is currently under legal investigation following allegations of draft evasion.
According to reports from Taiwanese media, William is accused of purchasing a falsified medical report in an attempt to avoid mandatory military service.
It is alleged that William spent NT$500,000 (approximately USD 15,000) to acquire a fake medical certificate declaring him unfit for military duty.
During questioning, William reportedly hired three lawyers to represent him and admitted to buying the document.
However, his repeated responses of “I don’t know” and “I don’t remember” to detailed inquiries led prosecutors to label his attitude as uncooperative.
As a result, the court set his bail at NT$500,000, making him the entertainer with the highest bail amount in this draft evasion case so far.
The scandal has triggered significant fallout in his career. Several of his television programs including “Wassup Man! Let’s chill!”, “Super Taste(Travel Show)”, and“Lets Open 42” have been confirmed to be temporarily suspended by broadcasters.
The case has sparked heated public discourse on celebrity accountability and the ethical responsibilities of public figures.
Authorities continue their investigation into whether others may be involved in similar cases.
