Chinese actress Xin Zhilei has responded to online speculation following the closing of the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival.
In an official statement, her agency firmly denied claims that she intentionally tried to take the center position during the festival’s opening red carpet event.
According to the statement, several social media users allegedly manipulated and edited footage from the event to create misleading narratives suggesting that Xin attempted to secure the spotlight on the red carpet.
Her management team emphasized that all guest positions and event procedures were arranged entirely by the festival organizers.
They stated that Xin Zhilei followed the official schedule and directions throughout the event, and that the allegations circulating online are false.
In response to the controversy, the agency confirmed that a law firm has been appointed to collect evidence and investigate the accounts responsible for spreading the claims.
Legal action, including formal complaints and lawsuits, may be pursued against individuals found to have engaged in defamation or misinformation. (Overseasidol.com)
