Overseasidol.com — A memorial monument for late Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu has officially been completed.
The structure was personally designed by her husband, South Korean musician Koo Jun Yup, and is located at the celebrity memorial area of Jinbaoshan Cemetery Park in Taipei.
The unveiling ceremony is scheduled for February 2, marking the first anniversary of the actress’s passing.
Taiwanese media reported that construction of the memorial site was finalized on January 27, 2026.
The monument stands in the cemetery’s celebrity section, near the memorial of late actor Godfrey Gao, adding emotional significance for fans who visit the site.
The design has drawn public attention for its symbolic details.
A pathway of nine white cement steps curves into the shape of the letter “S” widely interpreted as a tribute to Barbie Hsu’s stage name.
Along the sides of the steps, five square stone blocks are arranged in an orderly line, creating a serene and respectful atmosphere leading toward the monument.
The memorial sculpture itself stands on a dark gray marble base, giving it an elegant yet solemn presence.
Koo Jun Yup’s personal involvement in the design process has made the memorial especially meaningful.
Many fans believe the flowing “S” shape reflects Barbie Hsu’s graceful image during her lifetime, while the neutral tones convey a sense of timeless remembrance and dignity.
