The China GT Championship organizers have released an official statement addressing the recent controversy surrounding the event’s security measures and accreditation process.

In a statement published on July 23, the organizers said the entire event was conducted in full compliance with regulations governing large-scale public events.

They emphasized that race coordination, credential production, and pass distribution were handled according to established procedures.

The organizers also explained that all participating teams had received information regarding the number of access passes available and the registration deadline well before the competition.

All accreditation records were completed prior to the start of the race.

They added that security measures were upgraded based on the expected number of spectators, with the primary goal of protecting drivers, team personnel, and fans while ensuring the event ran smoothly.

The statement came one day after automotive content creator Yan Chuang posted online that the participation of “a certain celebrity” had resulted in stricter security and tighter pass approvals.

The comment quickly sparked speculation online, with many netizens believing it referred to actor and racer Wang Yibo. (Overseasidol.com)
