Overseasidol.com — Joe Chen recently shared a selfie while undergoing needle or acupuncture therapy on his face.
In the caption, she wrote that this treatment can help whiten skin and shrink pores, but admitted that enduring the pain is the real challenge.
Recently on a variety show, actress Evonne Hsieh shared a personal story about needle therapy, which was Joe’s suggestion.
She said, “The most convincing advice comes from someone you know. When Qiao En told me that getting pricked with needles could make you prettier, I believed her,”
In response, Joe Chen quickly clarified her intentions behind undergoing needle sculpting therapy.
“Let me be clear, I didn’t do it for beauty. I have a neck lump from fatigue, often called a ‘rich neck lump.’ I did it for health. Beauty is just a side benefit,” she explained.
She further shared her intense experience of having needles inserted from her back to her hips.
“It was very painful. One of my friends even cried from the pain,” she revealed.
Despite the discomfort, Chen persisted through a full week of treatment.
As a result, her neck and shoulder pain improved significantly, and her leg numbness after filming also lessened greatly after just two acupuncture sessions.
Joe’s candid revelation offered insight into the growing popularity of wellness-focused treatments that balance both health and beauty benefits.
