Overseasidol.com — Thai idol group BNK48 officially released the music video for “Ponytail to Shushu” on May 30, 2026.
The song serves as the title track for BNK48’s sixth album and quickly became a trending topic among fans shortly after its release.
The music video was produced by SCENESCREEN and directed by Kenngades, featuring vibrant visuals, energetic choreography, and a refreshing summer atmosphere that perfectly matches the group’s youthful image.
Fans praised the production for capturing the classic idol-group spirit while adding a modern T-Pop touch.
“Ponytail to Shushu” is originally based on a famous AKB48 song written by renowned Japanese producer Yasushi Akimoto.
The composition was created by Shinya Tada with arrangement by Ikuta Machine, while the Thai adaptation lyrics were handled by Tanupop Notayanont to better connect with Thai listeners.
For this sixth album’s main song, BNK48 selected senbatsu members from Team BIII, Team NV, and several trainees.
Members including Hoop, Janry, Marine, Monet, Emmy, Pancake, Yoghurt, Galeya, and Nammonn participated in the project, creating a fresh combination of experienced members and rising new-generation idols.
In addition to the MV release, BNK48 also held the first live performance of “Ponytail to Shushu” during the “BNK48 & CGM48: On Cloud 9 Festival” at MCC Hall, The Mall Lifestore Bangkae on May 30, 2026.
