BNK48 and CGM48 have officially announced the return of the Senbatsu Sousenkyo (General Election) 2026, scheduled to take place on November 14, 2026.
The event marks the sixth General Election organized by iAM to determine the lineup for the group’s next major single.
Fans will vote to select the members who will perform either BNK48’s 21st single or CGM48’s 12th single, depending on which group’s member finishes in first place and becomes the center.
The winning song will be adapted from the AKB48 Group catalog rather than an original BNK48 or CGM48 composition.
The election will select 12 senbatsu members, with one member taking the center position.
One of the biggest highlights of this year’s election is the special reward for the Kami-7, the top seven ranked members.
They will receive an exclusive collaboration song with AKB48, while the music video for the election single is scheduled to be filmed in Japan.
The voting period will run from October 1 to November 12, 2026.
Ahead of the election, iAM will release a pre-election single in October 2026, titled “Kimi to Doko ka e Ikitai”.
This is an Thai version of HKT48 song, featuring 24 senbatsu members, including 12 members from BNK48 and 12 members from CGM48. (Overseasidol.com)
